MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared regular holidays and special working and non-working days for 2026.
Marcos declares holidays for 2026
The President, through Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, signed on Sept.3, 2025 Proclamation 1006 that declared the regular holidays and special days in the country next year.
Based on the proclamation, the regular holidays for 2026 are:
-New Year’s Day Jan 1 (Thursday);
-Maundy Thursday April 2;
-Good Friday April 3;
-Araw ng Kagitingan April 9 (Thursday);
-Labor Day May 1 (Thursday);
-Independence Day June 12 (Friday);
-National Heroes Day Aug. 31 (Monday);
-Bonifacio Day Nov. 30 (Monday);
-Christmas Day Dec. 25 (Friday) and
Marcos declares holidays for 2026
-Rizal Day - Dec 30 (Wednesday).

-Chinese New Year Feb 17 (Tuesday);

-Black Saturday April 4;
-Ninoy Aquino Day Aug. 21 (Friday);
-All Saints Day Nov. 1 (Sunday);
-All Souls Day Nov. 2 (Monday);
-Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary Dec. 8 (Tuesday);
-Christmas Eve Dec. 24 (Thursday) and
-Last Day of the Year Dec. 31 (Thursday).
Meanwhile, like the past two years, the EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary on Feb. 25, which falls on a Wednesday, is a special working day.
